    Conductor: Ajax application

Working in collaboration with Irwin Chen of RedubLLC, netProtozo was brought in to work with the client, Conductor, a company specializing in natural search engine optimization and analytics. Conductor required a web client that would run independently of their data services. The solution chosen was to build a browser-based RESTful user interface, completely in javascript. Leveraging jQuery and other open source libraries, a js platform was built allow rapid creation and deployment of new sections within the site. Currently the application is in beta.

    GOOD: Online publishing

GOOD magazine required a sturdy HTML, CSS and Javascript framework which would support the redesign of their site, and to scale to support other future sections that were still under developement. Brought in by the team spare-heading the redesign, Kiss Me I'm Polish, netProtozo provided the HTML backbone and CSS structure to the work done in the redesign.

    Lab Projects

    • Grid Generator Use it to design a layout structure, specifying column, margin and gutter sizes, all referencing a core unit (in pixels). The resulting css is then ready for use in your next html layout.

    High fidelity protoyping

Experiencing your application or site come to life allows you test how users would interact with you site and see how well all your have translated. We can develop a high resolution prototype of your idea, allowing you to user test the inferface, and adjust in response to feedback. In the end, the prototype code serves as the basis for the production code, reducing waste

if there is one thing you can be certain of, it's change

    Building on patterns

Using custom tools, netProtozo can build up your UI quickly leverage common interface patterns, adding the unique patterns that may merge in your site or application. Everything from individually links to whole interaction flows on in the application can be standardized, refined and reused.

    Iterative process

netProtozo's approach to user interface development is compatible with the agile development process. Our process can accomodate a big up-front design approach, or working iteratively, shaping and evolving the interface through the course of the project. This allows for incorporation continous feedback from the client and users, while building up the UI. How is this possible? Our process and tools leverage patterns that instill structure and allow for continous change.

    Karl Llewellyn

    Owner / UI Architect

Karl Llewellyn focuses on architecting user interfaces with the knowledge that crafting solid, semantic, dynamic and engaging solutions is important, but even more importantly is the need to build for continous change.

Karl’s career began in print, having gained his Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. In a later move to the web, he joined the social network site publisher, Community Connect Inc. (now a part of Radio One), owner of market leading sites BlackPlanet.com and MiGente.com.During his eight year tenure there, his efforts gave birth to the Information Architecture team, along with Front End Development team, which he both managed as Director of IA. He then transitioned out of that role to focus on UI construction.

Based on experiences innovating around XHTML, CSS, and Javascript, Karl started netProtozo to continue to evolve processes and tools that meet the demands of increasingly complex and dynamic interactive user interfaces.
